Kate's Christmas Pageant

On Friday, Kate's class hosted a Christmas party and pageant for the parents. Luckily, Jay was also able to come with me - which absolutely made Kate's day. On the way into school, she stopped no fewer than 10 parents to tell them that, "my Daddy is coming to watch me at school today." She was so excited when she saw him!

The party started with about 30 minutes of songs.

I have included only a few brief highlights here, but our shining star would be thrilled to lead anyone through all of the video footage in person. She loved performing - and it was great fun to watch her.

After the performance, Santa arrived with gifts for all the children (purchased from the parents). Next, Kate showed us around her classroom - including about 20 Christmas craft projects she had completed - and then we had snacks, before the party ended.

Afterwards, we drove Jay back to the office, then went home for a little quiet time before returning to school to pick up Jack and Erik.

After school, we then went over to the Wahlstedt's home (home of Erik and Sofia) for some authentic Swedish cookie making.

We had a great time cutting out Christmas shapes - nothing like making cookies in your fancy princess dresses (above). And the kids had a blast, playing together. It was a cozy evening inside, and a nice chance to spend time with our friends who would be moving to Sweden the next week.
