On Tuesday, we returned to the Magic Kingdom for our last day. There were several rides we had missed the first day, and since the princesses were sure to be spotted around every corner, we thought it was the best bet for the group. Since this was our coldest day yet, we started the day by purchasing Mickey and Minnie hats and gloves for the kids... and I think the adults would have bought a pair if they had any in our size! The park was sold out of all warm weather gear... quite a run on the fleece! :) Regardless, it was great to see the park in the sun... everything was gorgeous and shimmery...
We started out the morning in Tomorrowland, where Jack and Papa took in Buzz Lightyear, while Oma, Kate and I explored the surrounding area. Afterwards, we grabbed a great lunch (again! wonderful food!). We then waited in line for the car ride - which, even after all these years, attracts quite a crowd. Oma and Kate teamed up, and Jack and Papa rode together - while I watched them drive off, laughing... especially at Kate's driving skills (a bit erratic) and Jack's driving skills (a bit fast).
After the cars, we returned to Fantasyland, and I took Kate on "It's A Small World" while Oma, Papa and Jack went on Peter Pan's ride. Kate absolutely loved the ride, and so when we polled the group as to which ride they wanted to ride one more time, everyone opted for It's A Small World. So we boarded it for the third time, and enjoyed it every bit as much as the first time. It was great to round the trip off with something not scary - and fun for everyone.
After the rides, we dedicated some serious time to selecting souvenirs. Kate selected a glamorous Cinderella dress, and Jack picked out a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt. They also used some of their birthday money to pick up matching mouse ears, and mini-Minnies and Mickies. It was a hit all around.
We then went to dinner at the Palace, right on Main Street. The dinner was perfect - very light, family-friendly, and efficient... followed by incredible, HUGE ice cream sundaes. My perfect combination! It was a great way to end a really incredible vacation.
We headed back to the hotel to pack and get ready to leave in the morning. And while it was very sad to say good-bye to Oma and Papa, we felt lucky to have had such a wonderful adventure with them. Thank you, Oma and Papa, for a wonderful trip!
