We're back in Zurich and luckily (except for poor Jay) we have nothing planned for this week... so we can use the time to get back on this time zone. Good thing - the first night, Kate was up from 9:30 - 2am, and Jack was up from 11 - 2am .... and I mean wide awake and ready to play! The low point was Jay coming out in the living room at 1am to find all 3 of us on the couch, watching Baby Einstein and eating cereal... the next day everyone slept from 2-11am, so at least the sleep is getting in!
After about 4 nights, the kids were finally back on their schedule - and within a week, Jay and I were back on ours - its amazing how much harder it is for us to adjust going east.
Our first week back brought lots of trips to our favorite spots - our local parks, the swim badi at the lake, and a festival in our neighborhood, where Jack indulged in the face painting (and his father questioned why I let him do it!). We caught up with Alton and Shannon for the festival, and had a great weekend, getting reacquainted with our city.
On Sunday, Jay and Jack had an adventure date that included a ride on the lake (in a rented rowboat), a trip on the highest ferris wheel we've ever seen, and a milkshake. They had a great time and Jack is already planning their next adventure.
